Gulshan Grover Takes Badman To Vancouver Film Fest, Gets Standing Ovation

No one can accuse Gulshan Grover of not having a sense of humour. After all in his latest film Badman, the actor spoofs himself. In the film Gulshan Grover is an aging actor who wants to relaunch himself as a hero, with an actress half his age of course. And get this, he wants to cast Tiger Shroff as his classmate.

No wonder that the film, which was the opening act at the Vancouver International Film Festival had the audience rolling on the floor with laughter.

Grover told SpotboyE.com that the quirky humour of the film had the audience in splits.

“The Defence, Justice and Finance Ministers of Canada were there, the Consul Generals of India and Pakistan were there, the UN representative for Women Empowerment too was a part of the audience. And to see all these people laughing was great. The humour is on me, a veteran Bollywood actor wanting to launch him as a hero at this age,” said the actor.

Badman, directed by Soumik Sen, has a number of Bollywood cameos too. Rishi Kapoor, Mahesh Bhatt, Farah Khan, Jackie Shroff, Sujoy Ghosh, they all play themselves in the comedy.

And Grover’s comic-timing with all his contemporaries, adds to the humour of the unconventional comedy.

Grover had told us in an earlier interview that he has recreated some scenes from Ram Lakhan, Sir and Shola Aur Shabnam for the film too(SRK is right that it's tough to recreate the characters you played earlier, Apr 13, 2016).

“I had to watch all those films again. We even had to postpone the shoot many times to get everything right. A lot of hard work has gone into the making of Bad Man. But I must say, we have pulled it off remarkably well,” the actor had revealed.

Badman will be released on Network 18’s digital platform Voot.
